CONCEPTUAL PACKAGING PROJECT

Honey, Honey

For this project I was tasked with developing packaging and branding for a series (3 or more) of related products; we were to produce full prototypes of the series, making each product appear retail ready. This product had to be made for or inspired by a TV, Movie, or Literary character. When branding and designing this product, I had to consider the character’s background, preferences, wardrobe, personality traits, etc. Almost every detail of the packaging, wording, materials, etc. had to relate back to my chosen character in some way.

I chose Donna Sheridan from the movie Mamma Mia! and the sequel Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. For my product, I designed a line of organic travel skin and haircare kits with the name “Honey, Honey.” I created 3 boxes, each with a travel size skincare product and haircare product. Each box is themed off of a different location that is important in Donna Sheridan’s life: Oxford, where she graduated college, Paris, where she traveled to after college and met Harry, and Greece, where she meets Bill and Sam, and ultimately ends up living for the rest of her life. The patterns and products for each box relate to both the location as well as Donna Sheridan’s experience while visiting that location.
